Hi, I’m Joseph Dowling—and I’m here to help you take control of your fitness, build confidence, and create real, lasting change. I hold a Bachelor of Arts and Science (Biology & Psychology) from the University of Guelph, a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University, and certification as a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. With experience in both education and fitness, I bring a unique blend of science, structure, and motivational coaching to everything I do.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients—from individuals focused on weight loss and strength training, to elite young athletes through Muskoka Hockey and other performance-based camps. My training is rooted in long-term results, not quick fixes. Whether you’re just beginning your fitness journey or looking to take your performance to the next level, my approach is always personalized, goal-driven, and backed by real-world experience.
Like many others, my own fitness story started with a setback. During the COVID-19 pandemic, while managing university and daily life, I found myself 60 pounds heavier and completely disconnected from the version of myself I wanted to be. But I chose not to let that define me. Through discipline, education, and consistency, I transformed my body and my mindset—reclaiming my health one day at a time.
That journey changed everything. It made me a better coach, a better mentor, and a better person. It also deepened my passion for helping others find their own strength and confidence.
Today, I train clients across the Muskoka region, including at Snap Fitness in Bracebridge and through on-site sessions in homes, camps, and community facilities. I also continue my work in education, using my background as a teacher to support others in setting goals, building healthy habits, and staying accountable.
